It’s no secret that new parents watch a ton of tv. I realized this weekend that our tv in the living room had been on the DIY Network all day when the programs actually started repeating later in the day. Whoops. Not that watching the DIY Network is a bad thing, it’s actually a good thing because it can inspire us to get some much needed projects done around the house – although sometimes it can also inspire us to create new projects.
“Maybe I really do need a platform bed,” I thought to myself the other day, and went on a search online to see how much mattresses for platform beds really are (the answer, the same amount as regular mattresses really). I even found a few sites with platform beds on sale and really got to planning – until my husband gave me the look. You know the look, that kind of brings you back to reality – sleeping baby on my chest, snow still falling sporadically outside the window, and the bills on the fridge waiting until pay day to be paid.
Maybe hubby can build me a platform bed? Again, I’d probably get the look – but maybe after a few hours of the DIY network I could get away with slipping in the suggestion and making him think it was his idea! <— You know you do that too.
DIY Network = ‘Bathtastic’ and ‘Bath Crashers’ = Matt Muenster (sigh)
We are remodeling our house and LOVE the DIY network. It is usually on here. You get some great ideas from that network.
