Have you heard about the Miche Bag yet? Up until a few years ago, it was completely foreign to me. I can remember exactly when I first learned about it though. I was on a flight to LA and the woman across the aisle from me had one. It caught my eye because of the great colors (black bag with a great lime green design on it) but it wasn’t until another passenger behind her leaned forward and asked, “Is that a Miche Bag?” that my ears perked up. The woman replied that yes, it was, and picked it up and showed her how the outer shell of the bag actually comes right off, making it completely versatile. I made a mental note to remember the name and look into purchasing one when I was back in Canada…and promptly forgot.
Miche base bags range in price between $18.95 (Mini Miche Bag) and $39.95 (Big Miche Bag) which is considerably less than I’ve spent on other bags. Once your size of bag is decided, the real fun begins! I was sent the Miche Bag (consider it a medium in the range) in black and my choice of 2 Miche Shells.
I picked Lynn and Alyssa. Lynn, I thought, would be a good fall bag with a nice mixture of autumn hues. Alyssa is perfect for spring, with a butterscotch-like design and bright colors. I have the Alyssa shell on right now and can’t wait to show off my cute bag.
Because of the magnet, you’d think that the shell may be loose or easily come off but this doesn’t seem to be the case. Once adhered to the bag, it stays in place until you are ready to switch it out for a new look. Another concern may be the magnet itself – my husband wondered if my credit cards or BlackBerry could get damaged inside (ever the critic, right?) but I learned on the site that the magnets used on Miche Bags are “earth magnets” and are absolutely harmless to credit cards and the like (in order to do any damage they would have to be the size of a baseball!)
