I’ve noticed something different with this pregnancy. I suppose it’s because, the third time around, I’ve got things figured out for the most part. I know what symptoms to expect, I know what to eat, and I know when certain milestones happen.
Still, I love reading about pregnancy and all the changes your body goes through (I prefer not reading about childbirth…let’s just avoid that topic altogether shall we?)
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth is a book full of information on pregnancy from day one all the way to delivery and beyond. It divides the books into blocks of weeks and details information you should know, and what I really liked, things you don’t really need to stress over!
It’s a light-hearted approach to pregnancy and childbirth while still being informative. I don’t know about you, but there are a few pregnancy books out there that make me roll my eyes at their dietary restrictions, tsk-tsks about weight gain and countless lists of scary things that can happen or go wrong. Who needs to read that? What we need is a sensible approach, no nonsense and information. This book has it!
I can think of many scenarios where you would see this book under the tree this holiday season and most involve a joking nudge at a friend or family member that may be freaked out about a pregnancy (new dads to be especially). Still, know that this book is full of great information and really is useful to whomever receives it!
