Good night, sleep tight! That’s what I think of in reference to the unique Pregnancy Pillow from Utterly Yours. The company specializes in Breast Pillows (for hands free nursing) and Pregnancy Pillows. The Pregnancy Pillows are different from any I’ve seen because they are not a huge S shaped pillow resembling a third person in your bed.
The pillows look like a basic cube to start, and then unfold to reveal two triangles with a piece of fabric in the middle. The pillows are actually purchased for your specific size (small, medium, large) so that your body fits perfectly on the material in the middle and there’s no need to adjust. I was eager to try this pillow to see if it could eliminate some of the bulk in our bed at night. Before this pillow, I typically slept with a pillow between my knees, one behind me to ensure I don’t roll onto my back and sometimes one in front.
I received a size small pillow and gave it a try. To use, simply line up the outside edge of the solid fabric triangle with the edge of the bed, pull the other (patterned) fabric triangle towards the middle of the bed, and then simply lay on the fabric that connects the two triangles. The soft triangle at my back is really good for keeping me on my side (with my regular pillow many times I’ll just end up laying on my back…ontop of it…whoops). The first time I tried this pillow my belly wasn’t as big, so the front triangle didn’t hold much value for me – it’s just now at the halfway point of pregnancy that I could use that little wedge under the belly at night so it’s been great.
Could you imagine wrapping one of those big S shaped pregnancy pillows and placing that under the tree?! Thankfully, the Pregnancy Pillow by Utterly Yours is a nice compact cube and would be great for gift giving because there’s no way she would know there’s a pregnancy pillow inside that square!
