My Bum Book

Cute name right?  The book itself is actually a brilliant idea with a cute name on the outside.  Are you an obsessive mom?  When your baby was a newborn did you track every little poop, pee, and how long baby fed or how many oz baby took?  I sure did!  With my first, I had a little notebook on the table beside the rocking chair and each day I’d write a new date heading and create columns.  My husband, thankfully, was willing to feed my obsession and wrote in the book as well so it worked well for both of us.  Until it came time to stop writing in the book.  When is that time?  I can honestly 100% remember the conversation I had with my husband over it.  I was crying.  Stressed.  Over stopping recording every feeding and poop in a book.

The thing is, I’d suggest any new parent keep notes like this in those first few weeks.  There’s nothing wrong with it and it gave me a huge sense of relief to know that I could easily look back and see how my little guy was doing and even compare day to day how many ounces he was taking (I formula fed).

My Bum Book is perfect for new mothers because while it gives new parents a place to keep notes on everything from feeding, poops and immunizations and other notes, there’s also an end date.  The book gives new parents enough space for 2 months worth of information and then you’re on your own, mama!  Truthfully after two months you’ve got a good handle on things and won’t need to refer to your notes anymore.  If I had an end date to my own notebook, it would have prevented my little mommy meltdown that day.

Plus, it makes such a cute keepsake.  I still have my little notebook from when my son was born.  At 6, he thinks it’s hilarious that mommy kept track of when he pooped. 😉

During the month of October, the company is donating $1 from the sale of every My Bum  Book to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure to support the fight against breast cancer.
