Giveaways and Reviews

Novica

Novica gives artisans and artists around the world the ability to share their beautiful work on a global scale – the website itself features products from all over the world and all can be delivered right to your door (Novica even helps out artisans with microfinance). For someone with two rambunctious kids, there’s no way I can shop in some of the beautiful shops in the city featuring wears like this.  Online is my best option and a site like Novica can literally keep me captivated for hours browsing at all the beautiful and unique products displayed.  If you love beautiful jewelry, the silver jewelry alone will keep you busy browsing for awhile!

Novica is more than an online store – customers can read about the person (or family) behind the product – where they live, what story their history tells, and truly the heart that comes with the product.

When I was given the opportunity to choose an item from Novica to review, I knew that I would once again spend hours on the website trying to decide what to pick.  I received a beautiful vase/candle holder from Novica in December and remembered how long it took me to decide!

As I browsed I kept coming back to one item to compare all others against.  I should have known this would be the item that would end up in our home – it kept drawing me back.  This Murano Hand Blown Vase is made by the Seguso Family in Brazil.

The Seguso Family has been recognized for the creativity and originality of their work and always are cited in news articles, award ceremonies and retrospective exhibits, with an increasing number of admirers and collectors interested in the passionate art of glass.

When I picked this item I knew exactly where it would go, and once it made its way from Brazil all the way to me in Canada, it found its home.

The colors match my room beautifully, and I like having something that I can share the story of.  “No, this wasn’t purchased at the local home decor store, it actually came from Brazil – there’s a family of craftsmen who make blown glass like this…”

Thank you Novica for the opportunity to receive such a beautiful item for our home!
