Snaptotes Review

When you became a mom was your first instinct to proudly display your children’s pictures everywhere? Where you that mom pulling out your wallet or photo book from your purse to show the IT guy at work your kids? We love showing off our kids, but I have to be honest – some of the products out there for displaying photos are kind of, well, geeky looking. I have given the grandparents a few mugs over the years but that’s about it. Finally, I found a company that can incorporate photos of your children (or pets, or friends) onto trendy, stylish and not-at-all-geeky items for yourself or gift giving.

Unlike the local department stores or overseas photo sites, the products from SnapTotes are made with superior quality – materials like microfiber and leather (yes leather!) are used just like they would be in regular handbags so you’re not giving up quality just to have a customized product.

Designing your bag (or other product) is really easy. Simply create an account and then upload one or several photos to your album. Then, you can either use the features on the site to design the bag yourself or you can do what I did use SnapTotes Custom Bag Design Service which leaves it in the hands of the experts! I picked the New Classic Tote because I read on the site that it could fit a 15″ or 17″ laptop easily so I thought it would be a good bag for taking the laptop out and about. WOW! I had no idea how big this tote really is (note to self: read size descriptions Tenille). The bag measures 19” W x 14 H” x 5” D!

Now, obviously I’m biased here but I think this is the best looking Classic Tote I have ever seen! I just uploaded some of my favorite pictures of the kids and send them, along with my choice of bag, to the design team at SnapTotes and in less than a week they emailed me back with several different variations of the collage theme I picked. This is the one I liked best.

The bag itself has 3 compartments with the center one being padded to fit a 15″ laptop. Now instead of jamming my laptop into a bag that fit the laptop and nothing else, I now have a bag with plenty of space. Looking at the bag, I commented to a friend that it would be the perfect bag for taking on a scrapbooking day with friends. You can easily fit a scrapbook and all the tools you need inside this bag and the photos on the outside set the theme of scrapbooking nicely don’t they?

Now that I’ve seen the detail and outstanding quality of SnapTotes bag that they so generously sent me, I’m aching to order The New Gigi, an adorable bag for everyday use! The price of The New Gigi is $135, and I’m planning on a summer purchase. The New Classic Tote bag that I received is $155. More expensive than the department store, yes, but the quality and craftsmanship is what you pay for here – the fabulous designs available and the result seeing your own kids on something of this quality is worth it entirely. Yes, even to frugal me!
