Delta Pilar Touch2O

One of our latest renovation upgrades to the house was something that took no time at all, yet has had a big impact. We have a corner sink which, while it looks different and a little modern, is really a giant pain. I couldn’t replace our sink with the espresso colored granite one I purchased (the plumber chuckled at me when he came to install it because it was much too big) and I was sad because I wanted to make our kitchen look more modern but now felt stuck in a rut.

This photo was taken before we moved in (remember I updated the kitchen with a great color!) and you can see the problem. How else could I update my kitchen? A new faucet would do it! When I started looking, I didn’t realize how advanced kitchen faucets could be. Being a mom with two young children (and a husband who is constantly doing reno projects), we’re always at the kitchen sink washing up. Remember I’m a bit (a lot) of a germo-phobe so I’m constantly wiping the taps down and finding gunk on them. I found a new kitchen faucet that is meant for busy families like mine!

The Delta Pilar Touch2O Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Soap Dispenser is just amazing (I think that word gets overused in reviews but it really is!) No more wet hands touching the taps, no more wondering if there’s bacteria from the chicken I just cut up on the faucet I turned on to wash my hands in the first place. Don’t you wonder about that? Your hands are dirty when you turn on the faucet, you wash them, and then touch that same spot to turn off the faucet, ick! The Delta Pilar Touch2O looks as great as it works and definitely made my kitchen look more up to date.

With a simple fingertip tap on either the on/off handle or anywhere on the spout, you can turn the water on and off! I usually use the back of my hand on the spout or a fingertip on the on/off tap. After we had the Pilar Touch 2O installed my husband muttered, “I love this thing,” several times in the days afterward when at the sink – he’s really impressed!

There’s a video on the Delta Faucets website here but while searching online I came across a video from the new owner of a Delta Pilar Touch 2O. It’s pretty much what you will do the first day after your new faucet is installed…I know we did.

When our plumber was installing the new tap for us, he wondered aloud if this would be a problem “if you have a cat and are away” (imagine it, right?) The answer is no. The Delta Pilar Touch 2O actually turns off after a few minutes (I didn’t time it but I was washing vegetables the other day and it turned off on me, so I’d say within 2-3 minutes).

This faucet from Delta will save water consumption because you can turn it off so easily while washing vegetables, rinsing plates, etc. I know you do this – you’re washing dishes in the sink and leave the water running on the other side to rinse because it’s a pain to turn the water on and off, adjust the temp and flow, etc. With Touch Technology, it’s easy to turn the water on and off with a quick tap and that way it’s not constantly running while you’re busy.

The magnetic docking system is really useful too. It’s a pull-down spray head with 2 functions (stream and spray) that makes rinsing dishes and cleaning the sink a breeze. The optional soap dispenser (some Delta Pilar Touch 2O faucets come without it) helps keep my counters free from clutter by eliminating the need for bottle of (antibacterial!) soap on the counter.

My kitchen faucets have never been this clean! Without wet dirty hands constantly touching them, they are (almost) always shiny and clean. Canadians, you can find the Delta Pilar Touch2O at select retailers across the country for $399 (I have seen them in recent flyers too!) Of course….I wouldn’t let you down now would I?
