I Smell Spring…

This week I received some spring themed products from LUSH to review, and the unused portions have been sitting on the table beside my couch to have at hand for writing about. The room smells great and it makes me happy – I think LUSH accomplished their goal with these products, even outside of the shower!

I’ve just started using massage bars and they last a long time – the Therapy Massage Bar is huge and will go a wrong way. Here’s a tip for the massage bars – they also make great closet fresheners if you store them in there instead of your bathroom cupboard.

Made with lavender, sweet orange and neroli, this bar actually smells like those chocolate oranges that are popular during the holidays. It’s a different smell, to say the least, but it actually grows on you when you use it for the first time. Try a little on the inside of your arm first, to see how you like the smell on your skin (don’t just base it on the bar itself). LUSH actually suggests starting with this bar if you’ve never tried their massage bars before but I disagree because the scent is stronger than some. I’d suggest the Shimmy Shimmy bar as a starter (vanilla is dominant).

I love the Bubble Bars from LUSH and I’ve said before how I am frugal and can easily get 6 uses out of a bar (the LUSH site says you can break it up into 2, I say more!) The Comfort Bubble Bar is my favorite, I think, and now I know why.

The yummy black currant fragrance, courtesy of cassis absolute, is also in some of my other favorite LUSH products (Snap The Whip Body Butter and Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly).

A product that I’ve never tried before until now from LUSH is their Emotibombs.

What ‘s an Emotibomb? Basically, it’s a product you put in your shower that releases amazing scents.

The suggestion is to put it on your shower floor, you can also pop it in a soap dish or other spot. Again, I don’t use the whole bar at once. I actually broke this one (aptly called Up You Gets because of it’s uplifting scent mix of lemon, lime and grapefruit) into tiny pieces and kind of sprinkled it on my shower floor the first time – the scent punch wasn’t as strong of course but at least this way I get to enjoy it for more than one shower.
