The myPC Stage 1 Keyboard from Targeted Technology Solutions, is seriously a must-have in this household, when before I had it I didn’t realize it was such a must-have! It’s one of those products that you didn’t know how badly you needed until you try it and wonder why you went without it for so long.
If your young children use the family computer (PC or Mac), chances are you’re finding things on the keyboard itself that don’t belong there. Crumbs? Check. Juice (or is that spit?) spills? Check. Boogers? Sadly, check.
The myPC Stage 1 Keyboard has a spill-proof design, a washable (removable) cover, and oversized keys that are color coded (vowels/consonants/numbers). The mouse that comes with the keyboard is toddler-sized which I really liked. Though this keyboard is designated for ages 1-4, my 5 year old really liked the mouse too, since the adult sized one is still hard for him to maneuver.
This keyboard, parents will note, has no period key. This is to help avoid accidental visits to unsafe websites. Because of this, note that having a favorites folder will help immensely to access your children’s favorite sites (otherwise even mommy can’t get the darlings to the site they want without that period key).
Even if your little wonder isn’t surfing the web with ease just yet, using the myPC Stage 1 Keyboard is helpful for families who would rather not be picking crackers out of their keyboard when doing their online baking. The keyboard is plug-and-play ready to go, so switching it out is easy.
With spending more time indoors during these cold winter months, my kid’s computer time has increased as well. At least with having the myPC Stage 1 Keyboard, the booger count won’t increase as well.
