Nothing shows your age like talking to the younger generation about what you think is the same thing, but they happen to be talking about a much more hip, new, version and you have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about! This was the situation I encountered when talking to my niece recently about 10 Things I Hate About You. I commented on how it was probably the first movie I saw Heath Ledger in, and she explained that it wasn’t a movie and Heath Ledger isn’t in it at all. Huh?!
10 Things I Hate About You has made the leap from the big screen in 1999 to the small (depending on your tv, heh.) screen on ABC Family in a half-hour series about sisters Kat and Bianca Stratford (clever last name, no?) and their vastly different personalities. The character filling Ledger’s (big) shoes is named Patrick Verona (again, clever!) who is brooding and intense and oh so cute too of course.
Bonus features include:
~ Bloopers
~ 10 Things I Hate Vs. 10 Things I Love – The cast answers crazy questions
~ Backstage Pass – Behind the Scenes with Meghan and Lindsey
~ Audio Commentaries
~ Pilot episode of another ABC hit, “Make It Or Break It”
My favorite bonus features are always the bloopers – here are some from 10 Things I Hate About You:
10 Things I Hate About You was released on DVD January 12th. Psst…for those who still love the original movie, a 10th Anniversary Edition was released recently as well!
Also released January 12th, Volume One of Make It or Break It is another ABC Family hit that is getting a lot of buzz. With the storyline revolving around girls at one of the top gymnastics schools in the country (known as “The Rock), I wasn’t sure I would be interested in this series. Of course, I should have realized that wherever you mix teenage girls and the pressure to be the best, drama almost certainly unfolds.
Underdog Emily is chosen to attend training at The Rock, much to the annoyance of three of the top alpha dogs already secure in their position at the school.
We root for Emily of course, but then learn more about the other girls at The Rock, and understand that the pressure can turn you into someone you don’t necessarily want to be. “You’ll flip for…Make It Or Break It,” raves David Hinkley of the New York Daily News.Bonus Features include:
~ Never before seen extended finale
~ Making It – Watch how these stars balance acting with difficult stunts
~ Deleted Scenes
Both titles are in stores now and of course can be picked up on Amazon, among other places online!
