Ooh La La Mama

Just last night, taking refuge in a nice bubble bath, I was flipping through a magazine and admiring the clothing on the child models. I wondered where they found such great clothing and then realized that because I shopped at the same stores all the time I was really missing out on all the potential out there for adorable clothing items. I need to start branching out more and finding items that are as unique as my kids.

Ohh La La Mama is definitely all about being unique. The company was founded by a husband and wife team who are ER doctors, knowing nothing about the fashion industry, they were helped along by wife Cindy’s childhood friend Chris who became Ohh La La Mama’s director of Sales and Marketing. Obviously, the trio had the right combination of vision and skills because Ooh La La Mama has grown tremendously over the past 2 years.

I know that when I gift Ohh La La Mama shirts, like the two seen here, to 2 special little guys in my life this holiday season, they are going to go crazy over them. Not only are they refreshingly void of stripes and cutesy bubbly prints, the two shirts have huge visual appeal for little boys featuring two things loved most by these adventurous souls – pirates and speed, baby!

I am positive the Sailing Across Tee ($29.95) is one of Ooh La La Mama’s bestsellers because it jumped out at me the first time I checked out the site. The Speedster Blue Tee ($31.95) will have any race car fan enamoured by the vivid print and grown-up look for the shirt.

With a name like Ooh La La Mama, you can’t have a store without adorable dresses. We were sent this sweet Delight Dress ($34.95) for my daughter to wear in the spring. It’s described as sleeveless but it does have a small ruffle at the arms for added detail. All the clothing items I received from Ooh La La Mama were incredibly soft (something important to the founders when starting the company).

As a consumer, I would have liked to see more information on the site about the fabric used in the clothing and wash/care instructions. I would have also liked more descriptions when clicking on a shirt, to ‘sell’ me on it. The products look so great when I have them in hand and I think they should be described as such!
