Giveaways and Reviews

Happy Green Bee (closed)

By now, if you read mom blogs and giveaway blogs you are probably familiar with Happy Green Bee and all the striped goodness that they have to offer! Happy Green Bee has been very generous to the blogging community – I was able to review Happy Green Bee last December as part of my first holiday event, and now they are back for the 2009 holiday season on my blog!

If you are unfamiliar with Happy Green Bee, here’s the cheat notes version of what makes Happy Green Bee so cool. First, the matriarch behind Happy Green Bee is Roxanne Quimby, who founded Burt’s Bees (do I sense a theme here?). Second, the company’s mission statement sums it all up: To create cheerful gender-free organic kids clothing with sustainable earth friendly manufacturing practices in an effort to meet and increase the demand for organic children’s clothing that not only looks and feels great but is contributing in positive ways to the welfare of our planet.

Clothing from Happy Green Bee is distinct – the Petal Dress, for example, is a classic Happy Green Bee design – I’d know it anywhere I saw it. The bold stripes make certain that your little tulip is anything but a wallflower (cheesy I know, but it works, right?) We were sent a Petal Dress in the perfect colors for the holidays – bright red and bold green!

I can’t help thinking that Cindy Lou Who would squeal with delight at seeing this dress, and the Grinch would probably raise an approving eyebrow at it as well. I can’t wait to snap some photos of my daughter in this dress for the holidays! The Petal Dress comes in other great color combinations too.

I like the length of this dress – it’s long enough to be dressy and fancy but not so long that my daughter is tripping on it (probably due to the varying lengths on the skirt). The sizing is generous – I choose a size L (2-3 years) and she has room to grow in it as a soon-to-be 2 year old this month.
Happy Green Bee also has hoodies, tees and board shorts for boys but the Petal Dress is the bee’s knees (there I go ahead) for little girls. The dress runs from 6m all the way up to 4 years.
1 reader is going to win a Petal Dress in radish and bean just like the one I received, in the size of the winner’s choice. To enter, just go to Happy Green Bee and leave a comment here telling me what other item you saw that you liked.
