We’re familiar with Charlie and Lola in our household, or Chaaa-lee and Low-laaaa as my husband and I call them. The British accents, though fun to mimic by adults who have nothing better to do, really serve our children well. It’s good for them to be able to hear different accents and phrases. Another good thing? Watching a BBC television show about a brother and sister who actually get along. Charlie and Lola work as a team and that is great to see.
In Charlie and Lola Volume Nine: What Can I Wear For Halloween? (released September 8th) Charlie, Lola, Lotta and Marv have been growing a pumpkin all through summer, and it’s enormous. Everyone has decided what costumes to wear, except for Lola. On the day of the party, however, disaster strikes. Bat Boy (otherwise known as Morton from upstairs) splatters the pumpkin and now Lola has a double crisis on her hands.
