When did things change? When did I go from being the person who knew the latest shows on tv, the best new music and latest celeb gossip to who I am today? I have my tv favorites, love my 80’s and 90’s stations on XM, and celeb gossip that interests me usually involves who is pregnant and what their kids are wearing!
Take for example, Nickelodeon’s teen sensation Miranda Cosgrove, the star of iCarly. Cosgrove plays Carly Shay, a teenager living in Seattle under the supervision of her older brother Spencer (dad is in the military). Together with her best friend Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and producer/cameraman Freddie (Nathan Kress) who lives across the hall, Carly creates a live internet webcast/show. The show becomes a hit, watched by thousands, and viewers then follow Carly and her friends on what happens next as a result, with the usual experiences of teenage life mixed in.
Now having just completed the second season, iCarly is loved by tweens and teens and is one of the biggest hits on Nickelodeon right now. Season 2 finds Carly and best friend Sam liking the same guy, iCarly’s first web award nomination and…the kiss that shocked the world (well, the iCarly fan world anyway!) Talking to my friends who have Tweens, iCarly is something they enjoy watching with their kids too and now I can see why. Check it out the next time you’re channel surfing if you are not familiar with it already.
