I’m having a love affair with bamboo this summer. Since checking out bamboo clothing for the first time a few months ago, I’ve developed a preference for bamboo over regular cotton. Unlike some products where the ‘newest and latest’ fad tends to be more expensive, the good news about bamboo is that, for the most part, it’s the same price as regular cotton fabrics. Being a frugal mama, I love this aspect!
Bamboo Clothes Canada is based in British Columbia and ships to Canada/US customers. Aside from their clothing line, I thought it was interesting to note that this store also sells Bamboo Fabric to those who may be interested in using it to create their own products like cloth diapers (apparently bamboo has become quite popular for this purpose). If you know someone who makes their own products, whether it be an Etsy store or other company, they can contact the company directly at 604-773-9207 to inquire about pricing.
My husband and I both received tshirts from Bamboo Clothes Canada to check out. My husband wears his Army Green Spun Bamboo Fiber T-shirt often, as it’s super soft and comfortable. In hot weather these shirts are so cool (literally!) because they actually work to wisk away moisture from your skin (unlike regular cotton that is breathable, but doesn’t work to keep moisture away).
Bamboo fiber is also naturally anti-microbial which means for a guy who’s working in the yard sweating, there’s no ick factor with sweat/bacteria on the shirt (I’m such a germophobe people, I apologize for highlighting that but to me that’s a big deal!)
Being a woman, I naturally don’t sweat (ha!) but I still really liked this Pinky V-neck from Bamboo Clothes Canada for all the other great features. I picked a size medium to review and unfortunately it was too small for me! It felt tight across the chest and arms so I’d advise ordering 1 size up for sure in these shirts to avoid disappointment. These shirts wash well and maintain their shape. Our shirts were $17/$18 CDN each – there’s really no reason not to wear bamboo over regular cotton when the prices are this good.
