Back to School – Tips from Peter Walsh and Office Max

Last week, I participated in OfficeMax’s “Get Organized for Back-to-School” blogcast featuring Peter Walsh from TLC’s Clean Sweep (and a guest several times lately on Oprah!) My little guy is heading off to Kindergarten later this month so now is the time to establish good organizational habits in our household.

Peter Walsh’s Tips for Home
1) Find the Vision you have for a Space
2) Make Organization a Family Value
3) Use the Right Tools for Great Organization

Basically, I learned that I should have a designated area for homework time with my child, and he’s going to learn organization (like anything else) from what he sees his parents do so it’s up to us to start being more organized too! The third step, using the right tools, is probably my favorite. I love stationary, binders, pretty pens and the like.

All these pretty items from Schoolio Von Hoolio back-to-school product line can be purchased at Office Max! I’m going to use them for myself (my little guy turned his nose up at the cupcakes and flowers!) for helping me keep on task with organizing my blog, my household, and also the classes I’ll be taking this fall. I am already using two of the books – a larger notebook where I made notes about where I am in developing my digital photos online and a to-do list, and a smaller notebook to keep track of blog related reminders and tasks.

Thank you Office Max and Peter Walsh for getting me on the right track for the new school year!
