I bet all of you have heard of J.R. Watkins products before. I’ve been familiar with the brand since my high school years when a friend’s parents sold it. Looking through their basement was a treat! In recent years I’ve seen J.R. Watkins reps at local farmer’s markets and even at kiosks in the mall. I often stop and browse the products because I know the quality is there. After years and years of distributing products, they’ve got to be doing something right! They have a large base of loyal customers and my suspicion is that they are looking for ways to appeal to a younger market these days to expand their customer base.
Maybe I’m wrong, but they brought in a big line of Natural Home Care products recently and knowing my mommy friends as I do – natural based cleaning products are a big thing right now, and having products from a brand we’re familiar with already helps us feel confident in our purchase. A week ago, we found out we are being transferred with my husband’s job so it was the perfect time to receive some J.R. Watkins Natural Home Care products in the mail! I tried the Green Tea and Aloe All Purpose Cleaner and used it for all my dusting (shelves, computer desk, baseboards, the list goes on and on, sigh…) and it worked great, leaving a nice herbal scent behind. The Green Tea and Aloe cleaner also comes in the form disposable wipes.
I also tried the Lavender Window Cleaner and was happy with the streak-free result and great scent left behind from this one too! Now, I always reach for my natural scented cleaners when cleaning rooms because even my 5 year old comments on how good it smells. Other items I tried are the Lemon Toilet Bowl Cleaner and Lemon Liquid Hand Soap (both recently seen in REDBOOK). I liked the low-odor of the toilet bowl cleaner (no need to open windows when cleaning here) and the pure essential lemon oil in the hand soap leaves behind a great scent.
