We’ve discussed sun protection clothing for ourselves and the kiddos recently, but haven’t touched on eye wear. I love sunglasses and wear them all year; it’s great that something so fashionable and cool is also really beneficial to our eye health too (bonus!) My kids, however, well that’s another story. While I can get them to wear them in the car, because they’re pretty much trapped, outdoors is more of a challenge.
Last year I purchased my first pair of Baby Banz for my daughter, and surprisingly she wore them without a problem. The neoprene elastic strap was comfortable on her little head and the glasses always stayed on when out for walks in the stroller.
Shari at Baby BanZ sent me a pair of sunglasses for my son, who is turning 5 this month. Yes, Baby BanZ actually has glasses for older kids too so just because you little one is growing older doesn’t mean you have to give up the quality and comfort you’ve come to love from Baby BanZ. I’m sure many moms will appreciate that (before being contacted by Shari I really had no idea Baby BanZ made sunglasses for kids past the age of 2).
JBanZ are new and they’re made just for children ages 4-10. They’re available in basic colors for boys and girls, as well as Patternz designs. We received these awesome JBanZ in Midnight Black for Elijah.
The first thing I noted was that these glasses have their own solid black neoprene carrying case, just like daddy’s glasses do. Finally, a case for glasses to help protect them (now to teach my son to remember to put them IN the case when he’s not wearing them…sigh).
The glasses fit my little guy well – in the past with other glasses, they have fit too snug and bothered my son (no point in having sunglasses if he isn’t going to wear them right?)
I like that the frame is made of shatter-resistant polycarbonate and the lenses offer 100% UVA/ UVB protection. My son? He just likes that they look cool!
