I love my job, I really do! My husband, on the other hand, has days where he (jokingly) complains how there’s never anything fun for him to review, at which point I remind him that he’s not the one doing the writing and therefore he doesn’t get much of a say in how many items are appropriate for him to try out. Oh what a happy man he was when I opened a generous sized box of Chocolate Covered Fortune Cookies from Fancy Fortune Cookies just over a week ago. This past week I’ve been eating far too many of these decadent treats, but it’s hard to resist something like this!
We tried (inhaled, devoured…) chocolate covered fortune cookies in Vanilla, Cherry, Coconut and Cappuccino flavors.
We were both impressed with the quality of the product. Have you ever tried a chocolate dipped product that left a waxy coating on your tongue or the roof of your mouth? That is the mark of a cheap chocolate. Fancy Fortune Cookies uses a great quality milk chocolate that tastes delicious and melts in your mouth.
After the chocolate melts, the next flavor you taste is that of the actual cookie. Again, I was impressed with the quality of Fancy Fortune Cookies. The cookie itself is a rich flavor with no oily aftertaste found in cheaper-quality fortune cookies. My favorite of the ones we tried is the Cappuccino cookie covered with milk chocolate! The Cappuccino flavor is anything but bitter and is actually more of a rich coffee flavor – adding the chocolate to the cookie makes it taste like an amazing mocha dessert.
We had fun reading the various messages inside the cookies. A great feature at Fancy Fortune Cookies is that you can create your own messages to go inside the cookies! Fancy Fortune Cookies would make great wedding favors (so much better than the Hershey’s kisses I had years ago as my favors….blah), especially because the couple can add their own message like their wedding date and names or even some advice about marriage.
