I have a company to share today that I’ve really grown to love over the past month or more. I have said before that I am so not hip organic mama like so many I see out there (and kuddos to them!) because, well, that’s not where my focus is. I like products that get the job done, and I’m not going to buy an organic shampoo just for the sake of it being organic. If a product will work in my hair, I’ll buy the salon shampoo and rinse it down the drain without a second thought (gasp…I know…) I’m trying though, I know we all need to do our part to keep our planet healthy and when it comes to my kids like a typical mommy I pay more attention to their well-being with products than my own. When companies make it easy for me to love their organic products, well it’s a win-win for all of us!
BamBoo Hugs is one company that makes me a bamboo-loving mama! After receiving two Hugs Towels, one in the the Big Kid Pirate Design (measuring an impressive 50″ x 28″), and the other a Kitty Hug Bath Blanket (measuring 43″ x 29″) these are now our favorite towels in the house to use for the kids, and here’s why…
First, the towels are huge (like a beach towel) and heavy. This is not a flimsy thin towel – Bamboo Hugs towels are double layered, basicly like two towels sewn together into one! This is a towel that can take on any kid; actually with its size I think it could tackle two!
Second, bamboo is incredibly soft and absorbant. Regular cotton simply can not compete with the absorbancy (3 to 4 times more absorbant) or softness of bamboo. If you have a baby with easily irritated skin, or hard water that makes your regular towels scratchy, bamboo towels would knock your socks off! When washing you don’t even need to use fabric softener (I didn’t use any because I didn’t want it to impede the absorbancy of the towel and knew that I didn’t need it with bamboo). 
Third, bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-fungal. My son always leaves his towel on a heap on the bathroom or bedroom floor no matter how many times I tell him to hang it up. Most times I find it shortly after his shower but sometimes I don’t. Wet towels left in a pile are breeding ground for bacteria, and I like knowing that our bamboo towels are not carrying anything strange when found on the floor!
