With summer just around the corner, the time our children are spending outside is increasing daily. After a winter of being kept inside virtually all the time, my kids are both eager to spend as much time outside as they can. I can already anticipate many days where I will have to do some negotiating to get them inside for bath time.
Did you know that 80% of total lifetime sun exposure is acquired by age 18? It makes sense, when you consider how much time children spend outside compared to the rest of the population stuck indoors working much of the time. Damage from sunburns suffered as a child can take 15 to 30 years to show up! I had no idea! That means that a bad sunburn you had as a child at 10 can show up in your 30’s as a parent.
I am making a commitment to be better about protecting my kid’s skin this summer. Neither has suffered a sunburn yet, but I admit to not putting sunscreen on them as often as I should, and knowing the above facts now, I need to become better at this!

It can even be used on your face; just apply it before your usual makeup.
