I have a new favorite candle scent. It’s called Pink Cashmere and it’s from a great company based in Ohio called Mama & Me! Pink Cashmere is a soy candle made with fragrance essence oils in a blend of cotton candy, vanilla and bergamot. The result is simply delicious smelling! You know that feeling you get when you walk into a room with a scented candle, and it just envelopes you and you take a nice deep breath in? Yeah, it’s that kind of scent!
When first visiting the Mama & Me site and taking a look at their huge selection of soy candles, it can be overwhelming. They have organized the categories well, and by clicking through each one you can see all the choices within that category. The thing is, there are so many great sounding choices! Where does a person start? Thankfully Diane from Mama & Me did the choosing for me and sent me some great scents to try.
This was my first time trying soy candles (a soy candle virgin, we could say). The first thing I noticed, besides how yummy the entire box smelled as I carried it into the house, was that the candles do not smell like wax. You know what I mean, there’s some candle brands out there that have a hint of scent added to cover up an overpowering smell of wax from the candle. I can’t say for sure if all soy candles avoid that wax smell but these ones definitely do.
The only ‘real’ candle I tried is the Pink Cashmere candle from the Luxurious line as I mentioned, and I am hooked. I am in the process of trying to decide what else I should order that scent in because I want more!
Now, the reason I say that the only ‘real’ candle I tried is the Pink Cashmere is because Diane from Mama & Me had me sample the Flameless Soy Candles. Sold in a tin with a lid, these Flameless Soy Candles have 200+ hours of burning time when used with the electric warmers that you can also purchase directly from their site.
These soy candles are a great idea for households with children (like mine!) or pets, where there’s a concern about an open flame. I have a huge candle addiction, seriously I have 3 shelves in a cupboard full of candles, and they keep accumulating because I don’t burn candles nearly as much as I used to because I’m worried about the kids knocking something over when I’m not in the room. Another place where Flameless Soy Candles are useful are in office environments or other places where an open flame isn’t allowed. Forget plug-in air fresheners when you can have a candle scent in the air, without the candle!
They make a great gift because they look so real! It’s fun to look through the choices of Flameless Soy Candles on the website and see how realistic the wax looks.
I have been using the Flameless Soy Candles with the Black Combo warmer which I plugged in and placed on my stove, for the past week or so and I love it, love it, love it! I can turn on the switch to the warmer, place a tin on, and leave the room. I’m currently downstairs and I can smell the fresh mint scent emitting from the tin in the kitchen right now.
The Flameless Soy Tin scents that I got to try were: French Bread, Banana Nut Bread, My Valentine, Enlighten and Inspire.
The reason the warmer is called a combo is because unlike most warmers, this one has a bowl and a flat part. So, you can place the Flameless Soy Candle on the burner itself, or put a tart or brick in the bowl part and place that on the burner. The Soy Tarts on the website are so realistic too! Buyers can appreciate the extra work that comes with making a tart like this, so much better than a plain brick-style tart and again great for your own household or as a gift.

I like the idea of having a refresher oil to use when the scent isn’t as strong from any of the flameless products after their extended use. That way, you don’t have to throw out a perfectly good tin or soy tart.
Another feature on this site (there are so many things I tell you all, I keep thinking of more) is that the scents are listed from 1-5 in order of scent level with 5 being the most fragrant. I really like this added information because we’re all different – some like subtle scents in the background and others, like me, like a scent to envelop the room.
