Jack and Lily – Review & Giveaway – Feisty Frugal & Fabulous

Back in December, I did a review of the My Shoes collection by Jack and Lily. You can read it here! I really like my (ok my daughter’s) Jack and Lily shoes and a large part of the reason I’m so in love with them is that they are a Canadian company! Yay for a Canadian company having a presence in the baby shoe market, with so many other great companies out there. Jack and Lily hold their own, and are loved among mommies and babies alike.

Jack and Lily have recently released 15 new designs in their original collection for Spring 2009. I was able to pick one pair to review, and finally decided on the Princess design. I loved the collegiate-like design of the word Princess across the shoe (reminds me of my husband’s old football jacket…er….except his doesn’t say Princess in pink…that would just be very wrong).

The other Jack and Lily shoes I reviewed in December were from the My Shoes collection, so this was my first experience with the Originals collection. I was immediately impressed with the detail in the shoe (great stitching and care) and the softness of the lamb’s touch leather.

I liked the color combo of the shoe. I know white isn’t the most practical choice among babies who are ready to run, run, run (!!) but who can resist these shoes, paired up with a spring dress or with all the pastels of spring clothes? The benefit of the soft sole shoes like this is that they are washable, either by hand or in the washing machine, so I can keep them looking clean and adorable.

I have to point out a second pair that I really like for Spring. Have you noticed how mint is the new color for Spring 2009? I have, and already have 1 pair of pants and a printed shirt for Nevaeh in mint. I am going to have to find her a pair of shoes to match all her new mint clothing that is sure to accumulate in her wardrobe, and these ones would be the perfect choice.

Jack and Lily did well in their design choices for Spring 2009 in their Originals collection, and I bet you can’t pick just one pair in their entire collection.
