Boogie Wipes: Soothe the Ouch This Fall

Now that we’re firmly planted in the back-to-school routine (at this point it just becomes the school routine), we’re ready for that next adventure in it. This is the point when the weather turns more crisp and little noses start to run. Hopefully, it’s just that – a runny nose from endless time outside enjoying the fresh air and the crunch of leaves beneath our feet. For some, it turns into more (and yes, that nasty flu is bound to make an appearance at some point in our area) but hopefully most of us get through the cold and flu season unscathed. I’ve got my arsenal ready, and it goes beyond the box of tissues and packages of antibacterial wipes listed on my school supply list.

At home, I ensure we’re stocked up on acetaminophen and ibuprofin – the first works to lower fevers which is typically the first sign for my little ones that they’re coming down with something, and the second is to help the aches and pains that typically come with a sore throat and cough. For little red noses, raw from running and blowing and wiping, we use Boogie Wipes. And no, this isn’t like a commercial where the person says they totally use a product and then simply don’t. We always have Boogie Wipes on hand in our household, for years now, and I regularly send them to school in my youngest’s backpack for her teacher to use in the classroom as well!

Boogie Wipes are made with natural saline to help dissolve boogies (the snotty kind…the crusty kind…) that are a result of colds, allergies or just, well, boogers. They’re alcohol, paraben and phthalate free (alcohol would add to the ouch, not help it) but do contain vitamin E, aloe, and chamomile.

When your little one (uh, and you, I use them too) have a sore runny nose, Boogie Wipes help clean and soothe without any ouch. While my kids are older (6, 9, and 13) and understand the necessity of wiping your nose, little ones and toddlers especially will fight hard to avoid it when their noses are red and sore. Boogie Wipes help break that association with wiping = ouch, and builds a positive association of soothing and comfort instead.

You can find Boogie Wipes in three variations – Fresh Scent, Great Grape (our favorite!) and Unscented – at retailers like Walmart, Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, Lawton Drugs, Toys R Us and London Drugs at a suggested retail price of $3.99-$4.99 for the 30 Count Packs and $9.99-$10.99 for the 90 Count Value Packs. Keep up with news and info on Boogie Wipes by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram too!
