My son is a bookworm, something that I’m very happy about of course, but it can cause some bedtime battles when he wants to (and continues to) read long after I’ve said lights-out. He’ll use what little light there is from the hallway to read, which I know strains his eyes, but eventually he falls asleep. On weekends, we’re more lax about bedtime, like many parents. Elijah will stay up reading for an extra hour or more but his little sister (who shares a room) is tuckered out and wants to sleep.
We had a lamp by the bed but on more than one occasion when my husband has come home after a night shift, the lamp was left on (often Elijah would wake up and turn it on!) which caused my heart to skip a beat worrying about how hot that little lamp can get.
The TykeLights AnimaLamp by Mobi intregued me for this reason – it’s a cool-running LED light that’s battery operated yet is bright enough for bedtime reading. Elijah thought this was the best idea ever and unfortunately left the lamp on all night anyway! When I discovered it, it wasn’t hot to the touch at all. And, all I had to do was recharge it the next day and the AnimaLamp was ready to go again the following evening.
The Mobi TykeLights AnimaLamp is available in Giraffe and Bunny designs as well and can be purchased directly from the website for $24.95.
