More Tips to Make Life Easier

Liked the first set of easy household tips I posted a few days ago here?  I got these in an email forward and thought they were brilliant!  Here are 10 more for you!

Turn your muffin pan upside down, bake cookie dough over the top and you’ve got delicious ice cream bowls!

Can’t find a missing earring or other small item but terrified you’ll vacuum it up?  Put a nylon stocking over the hose and you’ll find it quickly!

No need to buy a custom cupcake carrier – cut crosses into a box lid and you’ve got an instant cupcake carrier.  You can even have the kids help decorate it!

Place a magnetic strip behind your vanity or closet door in the bathroom and store tiny essentials like bobby pins, tweezers and more.

I’m always saving plastic bags when traveling for my shoes.  I didn’t realize what I needed was right in every hotel room – shower caps!

You can buy professional labels for your cords – or you can reuse bread ties and get the same results!

Love this!  Bake cupcakes right into an ice cream cone – it’s fun to eat and helps soak up the ice cream.  Yummy!

Install a tension rod to store spray bottles under the sink!

Freeze aloe vera in ice cream trays for soothing sunburn relief (isn’t this brilliant?!)

Use egg cartons to separate and store Christmas decorations – you know they’re designed for precious cargo!

  • OMG you are brilliant! Couple of questions though….
Where did you find the magnetic strip? Is this a craft store thing? I have to do this!
Did you try making the ice cream cone cakes? Do they just stand on a cookie sheet on their own or do you set them on a muffin tin?
I am smakcing my head over a few things… why didn’t I think of the nylons? I packed my Christmas stuff away not an hour before I head this. Crap! And I want ot stay at a hotel soon just for hte shower caps. Awesome post!!

    • I can solve at least one of your problems! Magnetic tape for the inside of the medicine cabinet. You can find it at any walmart in either the automotive or craft department. (I cant remember which!) and as for the cupcake cones, I personally would use a cupcake pan for added stability! Just my thoughts though!

    • My Mom and I have been doing the cupcakes in ice cream cones for years. the trick is to make them in muffin pans, and fill in the rest of each individual muffin cup with aluminum foil (wrapped around the base of the ice cream cone). Then just put the icing on to look like an ice cream cone once they cool!

  • i also save the soft drink trays from the golden arches and use them as holders for cupcake transport. i just turn the one over top of the other and then the icing doesn’t get smashed and they are easy to get out for distribution. they stack well too (i generally put paper towelling on the base side and glad press n seal on the cover to keep clean)

  • These are all amazing ideas! I love the magnetic strip for my daughter’s clips, and the tension rod! I also use shower caps as food covers..

    • I didn’t, lol, the source is at the bottom – I just think they are brilliant too!

  • No wonder Americans are fat. Cup cakes baked inside an ice cream cone? Insanity. Deep fried insanity.

  • These are really amazing! I shared them with my Facebook friends. I will most definitely be using a few of these. I love the ice cream cone idea. I always hated making ice cream cakes when I was a cake decorator.

Thanks for finding these and sharing them.

  • Wow, some tips I am definitely going to use and never thought of! Thanks for posting!

  • OMG…these are amazing. Thank you so much for posting this!! Why in the world did I not think of any of these things?? lol
