Tips to Make Life Easier

My sister sent me these in one of those email-forwards and I thought they were too brilliant not to share!

You can hull strawberries easily by using a straw!

Rubbing a walnut over scratches and dings in your furniture will help disguise them.

Have a graffiti artist like I do?  Remove crayon from tv and computer screens by using WD-40.  Someone else do this first and then tell me if it really works, I’m scared to!

Finally, a way to send sliced apples to school!  Keep the slices from going brown by putting an elastic around the apple, keeping it in tact!

Store sheets inside one of the matching pillow cases for a neat closet (and no lost pillow cases!)

Putting your iPod in a glass bowl will amplify the sound of your music!

Reuse your cleaning wipes container by using it for grocery bag storage.

Did you know baby powder can remove sand off skin easily?  I wish I knew this a week ago!

Attach a velrco strip on the wall to help hang (and organize) stuffed toys in the nursery.

Finally!  A place for wrapping paper – use a wire to store it on the ceiling of your closet, freeing up space and keeping them from being crushed!

  • I heard the same thing about the cleaning ability of WD40. My kitchen chairs are red leather, the walls are yellow. One of the chairs rubbed up against the wall and left red marks. I hadn’t been brave enough to try it until now. No worries. The paint was undamaged but it will take MUCH elbow grease to remove all the marks. I tried scraping to reduce the amount of build up; that helped.

Someone told me, and I checked, that WD40 was organic. Must have been a myth because that is not what is now said. Below is a pertinent website. Please note that Crayola does say to use WD40.

Please note the quote from the Duct Tape Guys. I wonder if that is a metaphor for relationships? 😉

Crayola® Stain Removal Tips recommends using WD-40 to remove (regular) crayon marks from a variety of surfaces.

As The Duct Tape Guys say …………. “You only need two tools in life, Duct Tape® and WD-40. If it’s not stuck and it’s supposed to be, Duct Tape it. If it’s stuck and it’s not supposed to be, WD-40 it.” ………..

  • I have a great tip to add…. If your little artist decides to use permanent marker, you can draw over the permanent marker with a dry erase marker, and it just wipes away! We learned this works when our daughter scribbled on Daddy’s (very expensive) LCD computer monitor- works like a charm!

I love the Apple tip… My daughter will enjoy apple slices in her lunch 🙂

  • Those are great ideas, i cant believe i never thought of them and the storing if sheets is awesome, i m doing that one today.

  • Awesome tricks! I love the wrapping paper idea and I am def going to do the pillow case trick. I love a clean closet.

  • I’ve read this a few times and don’t you just say “oh that makes so much sense!!! Wish I’d thought of it!”.

  • Great tips! Love the wrapping paper one. But what I want to know is who folds sheets nicely
enough that they’ll fit so snugly inside a pillow case? 😉

  • Just a quick tip… rub white toothpaste (colgate, crest) on walls to get crayon off, or marker (as long as it is not permanent). Also, buy bulk melamine foam and clean with it. That is what magic erasers are made of.
