In July we received an entire new bedding set for my son’s twin size bed from the beautiful people at Natura. We tested it for a month before writing the Natura bedding review in August and owe sentiment I kept hearing that entire time from my (pouting) husband was, “Why couldn’t we review this for our bed?” I agreed – my son’s sheets and duvet are so soft and cozy that it’s natural (excuse the pun) to feel jealous on his good fortune.
With the holidays approaching, of course Natura wants to remind readers that nothing makes a better gift than years of a good night’s sleep, and I wholeheartedly agree In September we were sent a new bedding set for our King sized bed to try out! My husband is no longer pouting but instead sleeping soundly on our new Natura bedding.
Of course the base of any good night’s sleep begins with your mattress. We have a great mattress but after a few years it’s not as cozy as it once was. A Natura Washable Wool Mattress Topper (ARV $400.80 CDN) has made all the difference and this, out of everything I have tried from Natura, is the one item I would suggest people try. The cover is 100% cotton sateen giving it a smooth silky feeling. The inside is a Natura Wash Wool Fill.
From the site: Natura Wash Wool™ Fill: The all natural, interactive Natura Smart Wash Wool™ fill creates an insulating layer that helps to regulate body temperature throughout the night, allowing you achieve longer periods of deep, healthy sleep. Natura Wool also wicks away excess moisture, creating a fresh, dry sleep environment that repels common allergens and bacteria that thrive in moist environments. In addition, Studies show that those who placed a wool pad on top of their existing mattress slept more soundly, reduced their tossing and turning by over 50%. My take? The Natural Washable Wool Mattress Topper is like sleeping on a cloud – it feels good getting into my bed each night, and I literally think to myself each night, “I looooove my bed,” before I fall asleep (as corny as that sounds, I really really do!)
I was eager to try the King size Classic All Season Comforter ($320.40 CDN) from Natura because with our old feather duvet/comforter I was always overheating in the middle of the night (literally waking up in sweat…ick).
From the site: The Classic All Seasons comforter is a medium weight comforter ideal for year round comfort. Filled with 10oz/yd² Natura Wool™ to help regulate body temperature throughout the night, allowing you achieve longer periods of deep, healthy sleep. Natura Wool also wicks away excess moisture, creating a fresh, dry sleep environment that repels common allergens. The soft, unbleached 100% cotton cover is quilted to the fill to eliminate shifting, clumping and hollow spots. This comforter was a nice change for us – I will admit it was hard for me to get used to the lighter (medium) weight of this blanket compared to my heavy feather duvet I previously had. Side note, when we pulled our duvet out from the cover, there was feathers and dust in our bedroom for hours afterwards (it was disgusting really, we were all sneezing!) Back to my new fabulous comforter – after climbing into bed the first few nights using this lighter weight comforter, I wondered if I could wake up cold. Happily, this is not the case – the comforter is literally the perfect temperature once you are snuggled in and off to dreamland. No more feathers!
The final component of our new bedding is our new King size Dream Mate Pillows (ARV $76.80). When I placed the pillow cases over them, I was a little nervous about how huge and puffy they seemed. My husband outright refused to use his claiming it was just too big and he’d end up not sleeping well.
Being a bloggy reviewer I had to try it, and am so glad I did! My head felt just as cradled in my Dream Mate Pillow as my entire body felt laying on my Wool Mattress Topper. Within a few days, the pillow didn’t look as giant anymore – not squished down by any means but just more comfortable looking. It took another week or so before my husband gave in and used his, and now he’s just as happy with it as I am.
On November 20th Natura is helping to launch Pillows for Troops – an amazing campaign where YOU can help bring comfort to a Canadian Soldier. For a cost of $5, you’ll be able to buy a pillow, personalize it with a postcard and send it to a soldier serving in Afghanistan. Check out Pillows for Troops for more information about this program!
Obviously I would suggest treating yourself this holiday season with Natura!
