When I first heard about Glow Baby (based here in Canada) it made me smile. Reading about Baby’s First Journal, the premiere product from Glow Baby, brought back so many memories of our first few weeks home with our son Elijah when he was born. My parents made fun of my husband and I, the way we meticulously wrote down every detail of my son’s er….ins and outs, if you will. We kept track of what time he had a bottle, how many oz. he took, and of course what the diaper contents were.
Oh yes we did. This carried on for his first 4 months. Every. Single. Day. You know what, though? I don’t regret it at all! I was an anxious new mom, feeling at times freaked out because in my new role I had no idea what I was doing. Keeping notes made me feel like I had some sense of control and really made me feel better. I just used a regular old notebook and made notes in columns (I still have it in my son’s baby box).
Baby’s First Journal is the same basic premise but makes everything neat and organized in one package. Baby’s First Journal helps parents log the first 3 months of baby’s life with feeding columns for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding (yay for remembering not everyone does things the same way) and also space to keep track of the fun things like special moments, bath routines, etc.
Having everything in one space makes doctor’s appointments easier too – in those first few months moms are lucky if they can remember their children’s middle name, much less if the baby’s eating patterns have increased along with sleeping (signaling a possible growth spurt, etc.)
At just $15.99 CDN this makes such a beneficial baby gift – and will do so much more for a new mom than a blanket or outfit will. My cousin is having her first baby in December and that’s why I choose a green Baby’s First Journal to review (she doesn’t know what she’s having…we assume a cute baby and not a kitten.) I know that this will help both her and her husband in those first few months like my own homemade journal did for me.
