When planning out the nursery for my daughter, I’d look through baby magazines, online stores, and even on tv for inspiration. I had several great ideas but unfortunately no artistic talent to make it happen. I loved the murals on walls but knew it wasn’t something I was capable of doing. In the end, I had a pretty nice room for Miss Nevaeh but it was missing something…
I found exactly what I was looking for at
Wee Gallery! Surya and Dave (graphic designer and teacher) have the artistic talent that I am lacking! The work on the site is amazing, and they really take into account how a baby sees the world. Newborns love black and white geometric figures, but how can you take something like that and make it fun and appealing in a nursery? Wee Gallery has it all figured out! They take simple designs made with black and white lines and turn them into fun and interesting animals and shapes, that keep your child watching far past the newborn stage.
I wish I had known about Wee Gallery when Nevaeh was a newborn, but at 1 year old she is lucky enough to now have her own Wee Gallery design in her room! There are several choices on their site on how you can decorate your baby’s room with their designs. I wanted to see how easy their Wall Graphics were to apply, and chose the
Garden Wall Graphics for Nevaeh’s room.
This is what the picture on the site looks like. I wondered, could I make Nevaeh’s walls look that appealing? I have to admit, I kept the picture from the package on the dresser in her room and kept walking to it for inspiration when I was planning out where to put the graphics. I took the advice written on the package and used tiny pieces of tape to place the graphics on the walls first before I took them off their adhesive backing.
Here is the final result. I think I did a pretty good job and I love how it’s just that little added extra to her room. It was super easy to apply and if I didn’t like the way it looked, it was easy to remove and reapply in the right spot. I actually had several graphics left over that I wasn’t sure where to place. The squirrel from this set, for instance, was claimed by Elijah for his room and now looks like its perched on top of his book shelf.
Wee Gallery has so many great products to stimulate and entertain your baby! They even have some graphics that you can download for free on their site HERE so you can see for yourself how babies love the designs.
