Wow! I just realized we are more than halfway through our giveaways for the Kick Off to Christmas Event! That means we are so close to Christmas, yay! No worries though, there are more giveaways coming in January (Santa takes a break December 26th and I’ll need one too!)
I know we have all heard the BPA news this past year, how all of us had been ingesting tiny amounts of BPA without ever knowing it. We fearfully inspected our baby bottles and questioned whether they were really safe, pondered the meaning of the number inside the triangle (was 7 safe or not, was 5 the good one or bad one?), and then got angry at the large companies that had been literally feeding this stuff to our kids for decades. I know you, like me, looked for alternatives to some of the common children’s products you had been using. Probably, like me, you went to your favorite store only to find the area that usually held bottles, cups, soothers, etc., quite empty for a few weeks last Spring, while retailers raced to replace their unsafe products with safe ones.
Companies raced as well. As I mentioned before in my post about baby bath products, big name-brand companies jumped on and created products just like the ones they had previously been making millions on, only this time they were BPA free. Um, thanks? Should we hug you and thank you for now creating a safe item when that should have been done all along? I don’t know about you, but I’d rather spend my money on a product from a company that is completely focused on safe products for my children, not just selling something because it’s trendy…or in Canada’s case, now illegal to sell otherwise (BPA was banned here in baby bottles).
So, I have been reluctant to buy sippy cups for Nevaeh made by some popular baby product companies. However, I was unsure of where to start with other cups. I really wanted to try
The Safe Sippy after reading about the product on their site. Once you check it out and read a bit, you may be pulled towards them like I was (some weirdo gravitational thing, I think). I like their style of writing, their spunk, and the visual appeal of their product.
The Safe Sippy sent me their cups to review and I am loving them! Obviously I love that they are BPA free, the design is sleek and doesn’t look like Nevaeh is carrying around a bubble with a nipple on it, and this is something she can grow with. It doesn’t
look like an infant sippy cup. In fact, I don’t think I’d have an issue with my 4 year old using this in the backseat to avoid spills. It reminds me of those sport water bottles with the pop up thing at the top (forgive me for my ignorance on sports bottles, I am not a sporty girl and when I try to use them I end up splashing myself in the face).
As far as functionality goes, they come apart easily, are dishwasher safe, and the handles are removable. Did I mention how awesome they look? To learn more about the cups, check out the FAQ on the website.
So, lucky Feisty Frugal and Fabulous readers, what does The Safe Sippy have for you?! Well, one very lucky reader will win THREE Safe Sippy cups! Use them, love them, and tell all your friends!
To enter, go to The Safe Sippy and read about The Features of the Cup and the FAQ. I know you are going to enjoy reading about the cup and may even have a giggle reading their witty commentary. Come back here and comment telling me one thing you learned about the cup OR one thing that made you chuckle that they said (which is, in fact, you learning as well…they’re sneaky that way!)
