Kick Off to Christmas Giveaway 16 – Da Bib

When you have a baby, certain things change in your house. The diaper bag now sits in the spot your awesome purse used to (if you are lucky you carry both, I tend to cram everything into one). Cheerios and other scraps of discarded baby food crunch under your feet when passing the high chair (if you have the energy to sweep after every meal…well you’re just special). In my house, my dishcloth drawer also gets crammed with bibs.

I realized, though, that I was always tossing aside some of the bibs in favor of the better ones. Why bother with them, I wondered, so I removed the useless ones from my drawer. What makes a bib useless? Well, the tiny ones that don’t cover more than the area under a baby’s chin are useless to me. I also don’t like the kind that don’t stay clasped when Nevaeh is goofing around in her highchair, or the ones that are so loose that she ends up with toast crumbs down her shirt.

After trying Da Bib, I now have a new favorite in my drawer. Now don’t get me wrong, I have some pretty bibs that come along in the diaper bag to restaurants and visiting because they happen to look really cute. As far as functionality goes, Da Bib wins hands down and luckily it’s adorable too!

Why am I lovin’ Da Bib? Well, besides the fact that it sounds really cool to say, “I’m lovin’ Da Bib,” it really has some great features. The first is the adjustable scrunch collar. There is a large strip of velcro on the collar bone area of the bib so you can adjust the fit to any size child, without risking scratchy velcro bothering a child’s neck. Because of the unique design, there’s no gap around the neck area and no chance for crumbs to find their way into a child’s shirt.

Second, one side is made with super absorbent micro-fiber, and the other side is a waterproof backing! So, even if you are using the micro-fiber side and a cup of water spills and is soaked up by the terry cloth, it’s not going to leak through to the other side!

Third, there’s a pocket on the waterproof side that, because of its design, is made to gap out a bit and actually catch the crumbs/food that falls inside it. Have you purchased a bib before with a front pocket only to realize that its useless because it lays so flat against the bib it couldn’t possible catch anything? The pocket on this bib actually flips forward from the opposite side, causing the fabric to push out a bit and therefore make the pocket stick out ready and waiting for the food to fall. Genius!
