When I was approached to review the LaloFit dvd, the first thing that came to mind was, “Do they not know I’m fabulous and don’t sweat?” Ok, replace lazy with fabulous and that may be a better description but LaloFit is definitely not for this fabulous mama to review. However, my husband was the perfect candidate.
Lalo Fuentes, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, shows you how to connect your mind and body in a technique called the “Freeze Technique” during the 55 minute full body workout on the DVD. Living in a small town we don’t even have the option of a personal trainer (the gym doubles as the laundry mat here, no lie!) so a dvd workout that can be done at home is useful for us.
My husband checked out the dvd and says that it’s something he would use at home on days he couldn’t make it to the gym or wanted a break from his usual workout. There’s a combination of high and low intensity exercises and Lalo works you through 6 interval-based circuits in total. You will be sweating about a third of the way in, but Lalo keeps you focused, literally, by a 30 second pause in between each circuit while words like “connect” and “control” flash on the screen. Keeping your mind in the game helps keep you on task and pushes you further.
That’s what he had to say. Me, I watched the dvd while my husband did the workout and was focused on Lalo’s accent and toned body. I mean, I watched my husband work out. Yeah, that’s it. LaloFit can be purchased at Amazon.com for $19.95.
