I’ve become a big fan of bamboo clothing in the past few months. If you’ve never touched bamboo fiber before, you will be surprised the first time you do. Cotton is just cotton right? Not so when it comes to bamboo. Bamboo fiber feels as soft as silk, yet looks like cotton. Once I discovered the softness of bamboo, then learned about the qualities of bamboo, I went on a search to find more bamboo clothing for my entire family. It seems like there is not much bamboo in stores yet but there are several great sites online where you can purchase eco-friendly and sustainable bamboo clothing at fantastic prices. Aside from men’s and women’s clothing (going way past the basic tees on other sites), there’s also Bamboo Sleepwear, Bamboo Maternity wear (which I think would be heaven in hot summer months), Bamboo Bedding and Bamboo towels.
I was sent two pieces of absolutely soft Bamboo Sleepwear to review – a Cami Tank Top and Shorts. Both pieces are 95% viscose from Bamboo and 4% spandex. I actually wore the tank top as a regular top the first day I got it and have been wearing the shorts around the house as well. I made sure to have both pieces washed and ready for a few humid nights I knew we had coming up and they were awesome for sleepwear as well. I think I’d call them “loungewear” because they can be worn night and day, really. Both pieces washed well and the softness truly is amazing – bamboo naturally wicks away moisture so the clothing is perfect for warm weather.
