I have been a fan of this company for well over a year now. It was last Spring that I purchased my first LTDchix shirt, and last November LTDchix offered up a giveaway for my Kick Off to Christmas event. What are LTDchix all about? In short, the company basically kicks sand in the face of the bitter reality of motherhood. When we were little girls dreaming about motherhood, did we have any idea how hard it would really be? Did we actually think we’d like being up all night long with a colicky baby? Who are these mothers with the smile on 24/7 who profess to “love it all” because really, I’d like to have a chat with them and bring them back down to earth.
Motherhood is not days full of laughter and cookies. It involves vomit from time to time, a screaming match between siblings, endless trips in the car…I mean van…and a laundry pile that continues to grow regardless of how much you try to cut it down. This is the reality of motherhood. The thing is, we still keep doing it because…THIS. IS. MOTHERHOOD.
As the tagline for LTDchix states, we’re “Living the Dream” because the good, the bad, and the ugly are what makes us mommies and none of us would trade it for the world (we’d just appreciate a glass of wine from time to time, thank you).
Speaking of screaming matches between siblings, why weren’t we told that this begins at an earlier age than any of us imagined? I have to bite my lip to keep from cracking up when my 18 month old little princess, palm out, shoves my 5 year old in the face to keep him from climbing up on the recliner we’re on. I know that this is the precursor to many full-out fights in the years to come, so I need to get my game on now and brush up on my referee technique.
The thermal tees run big – I was told this by the girls at LTDchix but was still hesitant to order a medium because the short sleeve tees fit small so I was cautious. I should have listened to their advice – my shirt is a size XL and is really big!
