What’s your favorite scent of fall? Is it the smell of the crisp leaves outside? Pumpkin pie baking in the oven? Hot cider waiting for you after raking the leaves? I love fall scents and have gathered quite a collection of candles in my favorite fall scents. Unfortunately, the candles sit mostly unused because I don’t burn them often. I love the ambiance of candlelight but with two kids running around the house, I have to make sure I’m there to supervise the candle when lit. That’s not always possible with so much to do.
My various Scentsy Warmers and Scentsy Bars have been my favorite way to fragrance my house for over a year now. I was first introduced to Scentsy last fall before the holidays and now my Scentsy Bars collection has almost outgrown its shoebox storage space. The Scentsy Bars are divided into eight little squares – I typically burn 2 at a time and they last about 2 weeks, give or take. So, a Scentsy Bar purchased for $5.00 US can last about 8 weeks on average. Realizing this, I have enough Scentsy Bars to fragrance my house into next summer – ah well!
The Scent of the Month for September is yummy new Maple Butter, described as “lightly sweetened Vermont maple syrup swirled with whipped butter, earthy pumpkin and warm, autumnal spices“. Sounds delsish, right? It is! This is a perfect fall scent, and it makes your house smell like you’ve been baking all afternoon. My Scentsy Consultant,Tricia Reeder, sent me a Maple Butter Scentsy Bar, Eskimo Kiss Scentsy Bar and a Scentsy Warmer (more about that later) but I had to take the opportunity to try some other scents for fall so I placed an order with Tricia at the same time.
A friend of mine has a Scentsy warmer and had Vanilla Cream in it when I went to her house one day, and I knew I had to order that one! Vanilla Cream is described as “french vanilla with a hint of coconut milk“, but to me it’s all creamy rich vanilla through and through. One great scent that I ordered for the first time is Cinnamon Vanilla, described as an “inviting blend of vanilla beans, cinnamon, coconut and cassia”. Me, I just smell cinnamon with a hint of vanilla. This is the perfect scent to use in your warmer to eliminate odors. I like using this one after dinner in the evenings, or first thing in the morning when I notice scents lingering from dinner the evening before. Finally, Eskimo Kiss, one of the newest Fall & Winter Scents from Scentsy, is one that will be a family favorite I think. Described as a mixture of “blackberry jam, carmelized brown sugar, vanilla and amber in a softly romantic scent” this scent is both sweet and subtle and one that really could be used all year round (I think it may end up as a Scentsy Favorite for this reason).
