One of the advantages of living on the Canadian prairies, if you see things my way, is that outdoor pool season is really only about 3 months of the year. So, if you can avoid indoor swimming pools for the other 9 months of the year, you can let your body relax for most of the year and not worry about such pesky things as toned thighs or a flat stomach. Ok, who am I kidding – once pool season starts many of us are in a panic trying to figure out what to wear and cursing the delicious shortbread cookies we devoured during the holiday season.

SlimPerfect sent me 2 pieces to review – the SlimSkort and the Black Tankini. I picked the same size in both items but unfortunately the Black Tankini was not a good fit, although the SlimSkort was.
The SlimSkort has a tummy tamer and attached bike shorts underneath to slim your thighs and butt. I have never worn any time of tummy tamer so the feel of it was a new experience for me. I thought it would feel constricting or hard to breathe but the SlimSkort was very comfortable. It moves with me and having the bike shorts underneath is actually a bonus, since there’s no worry of my skirt flying up!
I loved the look of the Black Tankini. SimPerfect explains that this Tankini is designed to make you look longer and leaner but I actually would have liked it to be longer. It is long enough to cover the waist so it is a comfortable fit for coverage, but the fit in mine looked odd. The empire waist didn’t sit at the right spot under my bust which made it hang funny. I think if I had gone up one size in the top (I got the same size in top and bottom) this may have helped so do pay close attention to the sizing guide on the site.
