This week, I was invited to join the festivities at the Costco Grand Opening in Saskatoon! A second store for the city (which, as noted at the ribbon cutting ceremony, is a very big deal!) meansĀ not only alleviating the traffic and crowds at the west Saskatoon Costco location, but also bringing a sparkly brand new store to residents in the south end of Saskatoon, and beyond.
And sparkly it was! I commented on Instagram Stories about the shiny floors (typically Costco stores are very well kept, but brand new floors have an entirely different shine to them!) and we also noted the brand new pallets, small things that just make everything brighter and more inviting when saying “Hello” to Saskatoon. I also noted changes in the brand new store’s layout compared to what I’m used to in our Regina store. There’s a middle aisle down the center of the store (up to the meat department at the back) which helps alleviate some crowding and also gives shoppers the ability to get to where they need to easier.
Also of note, entire cooler sections for both dairy and produce (again, in my usual store in Regina which is an older layout, we have dairy in the cooler only). I couldn’t believe how huge both these sections were, making it easy for carts to maneuver around while everyone fills them with fresh food. My favorite area of the store, the meals-to-go section, again was huge and full of tasty offerings.
Of course, when stocking up on household goods, P&G Brands are fully stocked and ready for all the shoppers! I admit, I loved how perfect every single display was the night before the grand opening, but it’s not far off from what I usually see when I visit any Costco (how DO they do it?!)
The South Saskatoon Costco location wasn’t the only new Costco location in Canada this week! Both Waterloo, Ontario and Barrhaven, Ontario held Costco Grand Openings last week as well – what a big month for Costco Canada! To celebrate, they’re throwing a Twitter party!
Join @ShashersLife and @MrsLouLou on Tuesday November 15th as they celebrate the Costco Grand Opening fun with sponsors Costco Canada and P&G! Prizes include 6 Executive Memberships to Costco + P&G Prize Pack (valued at $140), and 10 P&G Prize Packs (valued at $30). You can RSVP for the party at either Shashers Life and LouLou’s Views!
I don’t have a membership to Costco anymore but I did for a year through work, until it expired. LOVE it there and they always have cool things. I find it comes in handy to shop there for things like toilet paper, dish soap etc because that stuff with last a year or more depending on what it is

It’s been quite a while since I’ve shopped at Costco. There are none close to where I live. It looks like they have a great selection of products.
I’ve been thinking about getting a membership since I found out that I can order online! It would be worth it in the long run…can’t beat some of their deals.
I love Costco, I only go once a month and never on weekend, because it’s so crowded there.
