My Iced Coffee Obsession Satisfied: The Hamilton Beach Wave Station

This week has been the busiest one in years.  We’re slowly getting settled and adjusted to our new household in Regina, SK which means unpacking boxes (perhaps kicking boxes in frustration when you can’t find what you’re looking for…just me?) and figuring out our new neighborhood and area of the city. One quick discovery is that I don’t have a coffee shop near my house. In order to “grab a quick coffee” I’d have to take a drive much further than that $2.00 coffee should justify.  And so, I’ve unpacked my coffee maker and decided that making my coffee at home isn’t just frugal, it also doesn’t taste that bad either!  Mornings are for hot coffee, and afternoons are for iced in the summer.  So, I also needed to figure out how to satisfy my iced coffee craving in a way that wouldn’t make me feel like I was, well, pouring leftover coffee over ice (I need excitement, people!)

Introducing the super cute (hello blue!), ridiculously frugally priced (half price for $14.97 at Walmart right now!) and super convenient Hamilton Beach Wave Station Express Dispensing Blender!  If you’ve struggled with pouring out milkshakes or smoothies from a blender without dumping it all over the counter (again…just me?) or simply want a funky new appliance this summer perfect for backyard parties or afternoon iced coffees, this little beauty is for you.

I use the Mix setting and in no time have a creamy coffee drink just like my favorite coffee shop makes but for a fraction of the price, right in the comfort of my (air-conditioned) home!  The dispensing spout makes pouring flawless (an iced-capp type beverage is so thick that pouring it from the top would surely result in a mess on my counter!)  One thing to note, you need to have the Wave Station ON while dispensing the liquid – the Wave-Action® system continuously pulls mixture down into the blades so that you can dispense with ease.

With a 500 watt peak power motor and stainless steel blades, this mighty little machine gets the job done (did I mention it’s $14.97 on sale right now at Walmart?! OMG!) Think of all the fabulous summer drinks you can make with the Hamilton Beach Wave Station Express Dispensing Blender! Smoothies, milkshakes, margaritas and more. The 48 oz jar means you can make several drinks at once, and the continuous blending when dispensing means no one gets a watery mixture either (because no one wants a watered down margarita!)
