I’ve been sharing this life hack with friends for ages, and while I was organizing this afternoon I thought I would quickly share it here for you! If you’re like most moms, the end of year means a ton of school work and art work comes home and you’re stuck wondering what to toss and what to keep! If you keep everything, you’ll drown in paper and glitter, so this is how I stay organized!
Grab a pizza box (preferably an unmarked one like above which I get from the local take-n-bake place) and use it to store the minimal amount of projects and paperwork for each child. Have them go through their work with you and determine what you can keep and what can be tossed and you’ve got yourself a flat, stackable, time-capsule of work.
You can get a box each school year or you can store just a few things each year in the box like I do. I just keep report cards, special artwork and some school projects each year and the boxes take up no room at all in their bedroom closets!
What a great idea. I am going to ask the place where I order pizza from if I could have a few of these. So many storage uses and easy to stack on top of one another. I would never have thought of this…thank you very much!!!!
Love this idea Tenille as my son has tonnes of stuff from school and he wants to keep everything yikes!
That is very clever! It would also be smart to limit to one box per year! Lol!
That is such an awesome idea! All their school work tends to pile up and I hate clutter!
My son is starting Junior Kindergarten in September (as she wipes away a tear). This is a great idea that will be very useful! Thank you for sharing.
What a GREAT idea, even for old school work and pics you are holding on to, Thanks!
Really good idea and are easy to label and/ or decorate 🙂
how do you get the inside clean with out mold growing from the grease of pizza. good idea though
Neat idea!! 🙂
Definitely not something I would have thought of using for storage. 🙂
That’s pretty handy, I’ll have to remember that for next school year.
OMG.. thats genius! I have been looking for some kind of storage solution for all the crafts my son made me in playschool this year… And all the pictures he colored that I HAVE to keep lol.
Great idea!!
Thanks for the great idea. I have a pile of crafts and papers from my little guys’ first year of preschool and I was thinking about what to do with them.
Good idea. I make my kids pick out their12 best/ favourite pieces and then I take pictures of them.
what a great idea!
Never would of thought of this! What a great idea!!
Interesting.
fun idea, but my pizza boxes always have oil in them 🙁
Awesome idea!
using pizza boxes for storage! Great idea!!! 🙂
that a great idea, would never of thought to use pizza boxes.
I wear a size 13 shoe, so with a slight modification we could use those boxes. Definitely a great idea to hang on to some of the items they have made for the memories.
That’s a great idea, especially with those glitter projects.
What a terrific idea.
This is such a good idea!!
Great idea. It’s amazing how many creative projects a child does every year.
Great idea. I also pack away selections from the past year.
Great idea!
That is a great idea! Way better than me dumping their work into a big bin. thanks!
I liked your Life Hack: School Work Storage post.
This looks like a great idea.
simple, great idea! will have to keep in mind for when my kids start school
wonderful idea! Will have to try it for the stack of school things!
I am pretty sure you can also get these boxes as places like the UPS Store and UHaul. I will be on the lookout. What a great space saver. The boxes and contents will last for years.
What a great idea! I have a whole pile of my sons work that needs to be put away. I am off to go find the pizza boxes!!
That’s a good idea
I wish that my mom was this organized. She keeps everything so I’ll have to pass this information on. Thanks for sharing.

This is a brilliant idea! When my daughters were growing up I stored all of their stuff in large plastic bins, but this would have been easier and would have taken up much less room.
Love this idea!
great idea, thanks for sharing
