A recent post, 15 Kitchen Tips and Tricks, shared some great kitchen cooking tips I found online. The wine-cubes tip was particularly interesting though many people said, “What’s leftover wine?!”
I actually had leftover wine after a recent girls night (shameful to have it left, I know) and decided to make wine-cubes. They actually froze! I wasn’t sure they really would since alcohol doesn’t freeze generally but hey, I’m happy! Now I can pop these wine-cubes in a freezer-bag and use them in my sauces and stews.
I’m just that fabulous.
I knew wine would freeze as I have occasionally put a bottle in the freezer to chill and forgot about it! Major mess especially with red wine!! It has a low alcohol content (10-12%) so it will freeze. Liquor, at 40% alcohol, will not freeze. Vodka is often kept in the freezer.
