It’s funny, there are a few items that – over the years – I’ve reviewed more of than others. Strollers, for example, are one baby item that I happen to know a lot about since I’ve tested several with my kids. Another product that we’ve tried a few of over the years is vacuum cleaners. It’s kind of humorous when you think about it – what do moms consider big purchases that require some research ahead of time? Strollers and vacuums!
So, when I was contacted to see if I’d like to try out the Electrolux Nimble HEPA Bagless Upright Vacuum, I was game. Our main floor is all hard flooring except for an area rug or two, but our basement and stairs are all carpeted. Ohhhh, the stairs. Admit it, you are like me and have skipped vacuuming the stairs a time or two because they are a pain to do. Don’t worry, I won’t tell.
It turns out, one of the many features of the Electrolux Nimble is a tool that makes cleaning stairs easier. More about that later. Let’s look at another feature that the Electrolux Nimble brings to the table…uh…floor.
The most noticeable feature of this vacuum is the swivel steering, a common feature on more expensive brands of vacuums. This is the first we’ve tried with a swivel head and I really like how easy it is to maneuver. Gone are the days of standing there going back and forth vacuuming a room – with swivel steering, you can just GO! This is a great feature to see on a vacuum half the price of similar competitor’s models.
Another great feature, mentioned earlier, is the 3-in-1 Versa Tool (named as such because it can clean your stairs, crevaces and upholstery). Stand back and look at your stairs. They are covered entirely by carpet, yet why do we only vacuum the surface of the stairs? Dust, hair, and who knows what else also accumulates on the backs of stairs and on the wrap-around part but a regular vacuum can’t effectively reach those spots. That’s where this little tool comes in! The 3-in-1 Versa Tool can lay flat to get right into the crevice of the stairs or can open like a claw, seen above, to clean the edges.
At 17 lbs, this vacuum is easy to haul up and down the stairs and easy to maneuver (the swivel really is the selling feature of this model!) Other great features include the fact that it’s bagless (do people still use vacuum bags?) and the HEPA filter (which traps 99.9% of dust, dander and other allergens) is washable in the kitchen sink.
No bags, no filters to replace, great cleaning tools and a swivel head all on a vacuum that packs 12 amps of power for $329.99 in Canada (check around for pricing though, I saw it on Canadian Tire for $299.99!) No worries on having to take out any pay day loans to pay for it at that price!
Look for the Electrolux Nimble at Canadian Tire, Best Buy, Costco, and others here in Canada.
Looks like a quality vacuum. Keep up the good work Tenille
