In the chaos of the first few months of school, I know I’m not alone when I have to step back, take a moment, and just breathe. A friend shared her calendar planner on Facebook this week – colored pens and stickers included of course – and many moms chimed in that they are in the trenches too at this time of the year. It’s just busy.
So, I’ve been looking for ways to, quite frankly, chill out more and take some time for me. Consistent, good sleep is essential and one part of that equation has been the introduction of essential oils to my bedtime routine – most specifically lavendar oil. I received a beautiful Raindrop Oil Diffuser from Organic Aromas and have been using it in my household for well over a month now. I wanted to ensure that I used it long enough to get a feel for how it works, how to clean it, and how it helps. But here’s the thing, Organic Aromas are different from the “usual” oil diffusers out there.
Organic Aromas realized that there are far too many people using either relatively ineffective or wasteful methods to disseminate essential oils, such as evaporation, or even worse, ways in which the oils themselves are either altered, diluted or contaminated, such as those that use heat, require the addition of water or allow the oils to come in contact with harmful materials like plastic. They assimilated experts from different fields to construct what they call the greatest tool for aromatherapy in the world. Technologists, craftsmen and designers cooperated together to make the most powerful, fastest and most pleasing way to experience the fantastic scent and the real therapeutic values contained within pure essential oils there is.
This is the difference. No heat. No water. Just pure essential oils diffused using the Bernoullis Principle. In short, you get all of the benefits that people talk about when discussing essential oils and essential oil blends but without any of the risks or hassles that other methods of diffusing can bring.
This just made sense to me. While a steam-and-oil diffuser looks nice, I wasn’t sure I wanted to add more moisture to our household (especially in the bedroom every night). I turn on my gorgeous Raindrop Nebulizing Diffuser before bed and use the touch sensor light switch to turn on the LED at the same time. Then, when my husband comes to bed about 30 minutes later, I’m already asleep and he turns it off with a quick switch of a button. The unit has a usage cycle of 2 minutes on, 1 minute off and an auto shut-off of 120 minutes, should he forget.
Now, there is one extra step when owning a Nebulizing Diffuser; you do need to clean it regularly. When you think about it, you should probably be cleaning any oil diffuser regularly (the water ones make me think of mold…) so I was happy to take on the task and learned it’s surprisingly easy. Once a week you should do a light cleaning, using the dropper you get with the unit to add alcohol to it, turn it on for 5-10 minutes, pour out what’s left and you’re done. You can do a more intense cleaning monthly which again, is no big deal. Organic Aromas has a YouTube video to help you through the process too (which I didn’t need, because it’s very basic, but it’s good to know it’s there!)
There are so many beautiful oil diffusers on the site to choose from too, including hand carved oil diffusers like this Pegasus Unicorn one (I think these would make beautiful wedding gifts!) It takes their artisans at least 3 full days to complete, and it’s clear why – they are absolutely stunning!
Here’s another example of the quality wood diffusers available at Organic Aromas. Oh, and I’m happy to note that shipping to Canada is free! They also have a 7-day return policy, because they are that confident that you will love their products (like I do!)
