Your Personality – Your Tone

Depending on the day, you’ll see me out at the farmers market in sunglasses hiding my nude face (bare bare bare!) or – especially if it’s a day I’ve had a TV or media event – I’ll have a fabulous full face of make-up. Truth be told, I’m actually leaning more on days where I apply full make-up because I’ve found easy ways to “do mah face” in under ten minutes. I find I not only look better with makeup but I feel better when I look in the mirror.

Lip colour has always been a challenge. I have thin lips and lean towards colors that are more nude-based because I don’t want it to be obvious if the colour bleeds. I have pale skin and also lean towards lighter colours because I felt like the contrast of a dark hue would be too loud for me. It turns out, it’s not that I can’t wear a darker hue, it’s that I have to find the right hue to match my skin tone.

And so, I took the quiz at toncosmetics.com and the results were that I’m Fair Cool 1 and Fair Cool 2 – one nude shade and one red shade picked just for me based on my answers about my skin. Hmmm, I wondered, could I have found colours that are perfect for me?

In a recent Instagram post above, the skincare product I was sharing caught almost as much attention as my teeth, because of my gorgeous lipstick (a few people commented they thought the post was for a toothpaste!)
