Barbie Fashionistas

I was definitely a Barbie fan as a little girl. Growing up as an only child (my older siblings had all moved out by the time I was in the second grade) I spent countless hours playing with my Barbies, making up scenarios and working through my own school and life scenarios through the dolls. Of course, I loved when I had a friend over to play Barbies and join in the fun. It’s probably why I go overboard when it comes to my daughters (who are 3.5 years apart) and their love of Barbie. A typical visit to the toy aisle in July, for example, will result in us bringing home a Barbie pool and accessories. Because, summer. 🙂 Truthfully though, many of my Snapchat snaps this summer were of my 5 year old playing with that Barbie pool, for a solid 45m-1 hour at a time, on the back deck.

  • My cousins and I would spend hours playing with Barbies. Many of my fond memories of family come from the playtime I spent with my cousins.

  • They are pretty cool. I used to cut all the barvies hair when I had them, well actually I cut my sister’s barbies hair.

  • I love that there is more and different shaped barbies, so much better then the one sized barbie, this will make the young girls feel good about themselves as well!!

  • I was a massive Barbie fan growing up. I had a whole garage converted to a Barbie world with malls, cars, the motorhome, news studio, houses (a mixture of homemade stuff, hand me downs and gifts) I honestly wasn’t spoiled rotten! As a huge Barbie fan I have to say I love the changes they are making.

  • I was at Walmart the other day and our girls spotted these!! They are super not everyone is the same, they have tall, short heavy and thin and I love the one with the purple hair 🙂

  • I loved barbie growing up and still have a couple from the 60’s i had as a child. My daughter was a huge fan now the grandkids are.

  • My daughter was a big fan of Barbie when she was younger and still has a collection of Barbies but it is nice to see the changes in looks and styles.

  • I love how they’re changing Barbie from tiny perfect figure to every shape and size plus different trends with hair. It makes her more current and kids can learn young to be who they want

  • I can’t say that, as a child, I noticed that Barbie was anything other than what she was. But, I am Caucasian and grew up in a fairly homogeneous environment. Now, as an adult, I can’t see why there would be any question of designing a doll line that many different girls could relate to and see themselves in like Mattel finally has.

  • I love that there are brunette and different body type barbies in fashion 🙂 I wish they had these when I was a young girl and I would totally prefer to purchase these for my nieces YAY Barbie!

  • I never had a Barbie growing up , I got a baby sister with the name instead lol.. thanks Mom! My girls have had a few different Barbie dolls but these new versions are the best. A Barbie for everyone

  • So nice to see Barbie in different shapes! I loved Barbies growing up, I still collect them, mostly the holiday ones! Looking forward to introducing my youngest step grand daughter to the new ones!

  • Barbie was always there for me when I was growing up. So much fun to make-believe and imagine all the great things she could be. I absolutely love watching my daughter play with Barbie now…….definitely unleashes their creative sides!

  • Neither my sister nor I had Barbies when we were growing up, probably because we predate her by a few years. But my daughter had a toybox full of Barbies and Kens, and all their friends, and houses and cars. And so many wardrobe changes for Barbie too.

  • Wowww…Barbies have come a long way since I was a child. I loved my Barbies. My Mom would saw wardrobes for them every Christmas. My sister and I would play for hours. We would have loved the new ones too.
