There is so much excitement when my family, including the young nieces and nephews, get to go out to my Dad & Step-Mom’s acreage and see all the animals including sheep, cats, dogs, chickens and everyone’s favorite, the horses. I find it incredible to see these huge animals react in the gentlest manner to the babies and toddlers who curiously approach the fence to give treats.

Even more surprising is the imprinted memory these animals have on a 2-and- a-half-year-old. Both my niece and nephew talk with great detail about “Papa’s horses”, even weeks after we’ve been out for a visit.

That is why this Christmas I’m absolutely thrilled to be giving my niece and nephew each a set from PLAYMOBIL Country Horseback Ride and Vet with Pony and Foal. I have no doubt that the horses will be named after those on the farm, and that the figurines will be named after Papa, Grandma and the ‘kids’ after my niece and nephew. I have a feeling my Dad & Step-Mom will get a real kick out of the play sets as well as the horses even look like the real ones!

It also provides lots of ideas for those adults looking for ideas on what to get as a gift. The possibilities are seemingly endless when it comes to the variations and extensions in PLAYMOBIL sets and provide hours and hours (and possibly years) of imaginative play for kids.

I remember being so jealous of my friend’s PLAYMOBIL toys when I was a kid. There were always such neat sets that triggered my imagination and allowed me to jump into some other world of make believe. Now as an adult I have the privilege to ensure my own nieces and nephews won’t miss out on these great play sets, of which there are about 30 different themes.

PLAYMOBIL has been making these great toys for 40 years, and with a success and track record like that – it is sure to be a child favorite, and definitely something for everyone!
