How Easy Is It To Go Springfree?

Earlier this summer, we made the move to a 13×13 Jumbo Square Trampoline in our backyard, courtesy of Springfree. When given the opportunity to try it out, we knew that yes – 13×13 is the largest trampoline Springfree sells, but also knew that we had ample room in our backyard and three rambunctious kids with friends knocking on the door all summer long.

SF13-2We also knew that Springfree Trampolines are known as the world’s safest trampoline – and let’s be real for a moment here – I’m definitely a helicopter mom in many ways. There is absolutely no way on this planet that I’d allow any of my kids to jump on a trampoline without a net, yet it happens in backyards everywhere. I’m also concerned about injuries that can happen on a trampoline with a net. On the flip side, I have two daughters who love gymnastics and a son who runs first and thinks later. I wanted to have a trampoline in our yard to allow my kids to enjoy physical activity, but in a safe and responsible way. Enter Springfree Trampoline!

Available from SpringfreeTrampoline.ca for $2399.00, a Springfree Trampoline is an investment for your family. It’s important to research ahead of making a larger purchase, so the question all families inevitably have – mine included – is “why go Springfree?” We learned from all the info presented on the website that Springfree Trampolines are indeed safer for your family than others on the market, and where’s why:

  • Springfree uses rods instead of standard metal coil springs so there’s no danger of anyone pinching themselves or falling on metal springs. Spingfree’s composite rods lie beneath the jumping surface and are completely out of harm’s way.
  • The frame on Springfree trampolines is hidden well beneath the jumping surface, not beside it. While the surface on a standard trampoline may be bouncy, that frame most definitely is not when a head or arm lands on it!
  • On that note, the flexible net rods that are part of the Springfree FlexiNet enclosure help cushion jumpers to prevent falls. Those foam wrapped metal poles on the outside of other trampolines just give a jumper really bad results for having impeccible aim when they collide with one.
  • The Springfree SoftEdge mat is shock-absorbent meaning it’s the rods and mat that absorb the energy from the impact, and not the body – genius! Other trampoline mats lose much of their shock absorbancy after the first impact, yikes!

Of course, there is a ton of information readily available on Springfree Tramponline safety on the site, along with videos from the designer, Dr. Keith Alexander explaining the how and why of the design. There’s also some great information, and photos, on the site explaining Springfree Trampoline quality, which is important for money-conscious families (aren’t we all?)

Springfree Trampoline Assembly

So, we have the why and the where, now it comes down to “how”. How easy is a Springfree Trampoline to build and install? Again, the website is full of helpful information and videos to help you in the process, and we found the instructions enclosed really easy to follow and innovative in terms of understanding how to build the trampoline in the steps listed. Connect the dots…you’ll get it when you do it!

The great thing about setting up a Springfree Trampoline in your yard is that you only have to do it once – they are built to withstand the elements and yes, even a Saskatchewan winter. Spingfree frames have three layers of rust protection and won’t flake or peel, and the SoftEdge mat is tested to withstand more than 5,000 hours of harsh sun exposure.

Our Springfree Trampoline is now up and we’ve been having a ton of fun using it this summer! I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks about Springfree including some of the accessories we received as well, along with the latest innovation from Springfree – Tgoma! Stay tuned.
