This fall certainly holds a lot of opportunities for entertaining. With Halloween falling on a weekend this year, adults and kids alike are planning parties. Thanksgiving is behind us, a time for family gatherings. We also have a birthday in the fall months in our family (my oldest daughter) and of course there’s Christmas and New Years Eve to look forward to.
My girls have enjoyed our gatherings this summer and fall as much as me – we have some great friends with kids around the same age so it makes things much more fun (and let’s face it, easier when the kids are occupied too!) So, when given the opportunity to host a viewing party in celebration of the DVD release of Barbie Rock ‘n Royals, we were in!
We were provided a ton of products Barbie would herself appreciate – everything from two Barbie Rock ‘n Royals dolls to a speaker for music, nail polish, sunglasses, hair extensions and much more! I picked up an adorable German chocolate cake that I thought was very Barbie-ish as well, to make the day complete (and for the moms to indulge in as well!)
I set everything up while the girls were getting dressed, and as you can see – they were suitably impressed! Once their friends arrived, they settled in to watching the movie. Here’s the trailer:
Erika, a rockstar, and Courtney, a princess, bring their two different worlds and friends together for an epic sing-off to save Camp Royalty and Camp Pop. Watch them find their true voices and prove that anything is possible in Barbie’s new movie Barbie™ in Rock ‘n Royals!
We also spent some time painting nails and snacking – all good elements of a party I’d say!
Growing up as a big Barbie fan myself – I had the 80’s Barbie Mansion and can’t tell you how many hours I played with my Barbies – I love that my girls love Barbie too. Typically after my seven-year-old gets home from school, my four-year-old will ask, “Nevaeh, do you want to play Barbies?” and thankfully they’re both at an age where they can play together (I played alone as my siblings were much older than me!) Still, I catch my four-year-old playing Barbies alone as well, and I love evesdropping on the girls create either in tandem or alone.
Whether playing together or alone, dancing with your friends or watching a movie with popcorn, Barbie gives girls the opportunity to explore their imagination, build friendships and celebrate being a girl. The latest release of Barbie Rock ‘n Royals further celebrates those themes and it’s a great gift idea for the upcoming holidays or simply a weekend movie date with friends this fall. Look for it now at your favorite retailer (Amazon.ca for $16.88!) along with Barbie in Rock ‘N Royals merchandise available now!
