If you’ll be visiting a Build-A-Bear Workshop location on your summer travels (we always make a stop when visiting Calgary!) you may see a trio of rockin’ bears just waiting for you in store. You see, Build-A-Bear Workshop locations have been a show-stop for Honey Girls, and now kids can bring them home to their next on-tour performance stop as well.
The Honey Girls are three best friends – Viv, Teegan and Risa – who formed their own band and of course, look the part with stylish Build-A-Bear outfits. Each Honey Girls band member has her own strengths to bring to the stage which helps the friends “be brighter together”.
This positive messaging is important for elementary and pre-teen girls, helping them work through friendships and understanding that while not everyone is the same, we each have some great talents and attributes to bring to the larger group. Teegan is fearless and bold, the lead singer of the group and a writer. Risa is the guitarist, and she’s all about music and being creative. Viv is the drummer and also a talented inventor who loves to build things.
Of course, because the Honey Girls are all about music, each Honey Girls comes with her own song, specific to each bear and their personality of course! Build-A-Bear adopters can also customize their bears with special plush star which represents an aspirational trait such as being creative, confident, talented, smart, fearless, and strong. You’ll notice that none of those traits focus on physical appearances (hooray!)
Before checking out the new Honey Girls Build-A-Bear in store, download the (free) Honey Girls app from iTunes or Google Play and have fun meeting the bears. I’ve checked out the app myself first, and there’s lots of fun things kids can do, like create their own selfies with fun Honey Girls stickers and effects and even create their own Honey Girls music videos (the words are across the bottom of the screen to help you sing along!)
The Honey Girls are available for purchase online and in-store at Build-A-Bear Workshops right now!
Omg they are so adorable!
Hi, new reader here! What a cute idea. Are they all bears? With different shaped ears, it almost looks like one is a cat and another. . . maybe a bunny! I love the positive message that our differences make us stronger together. Good thinkin’, Build-a-Bear!
